Halloween Costume Ride

HALLOWEEN, WHEN IT’S OKAY TO BE OUTRAGEOUS!

Hi everybody – Yes, it’s that time of year where the nights are cool and the trees are ablaze with color.  Let’s celebrate Halloween with a wild costume bike ride this Sunday, October 30, meeting at noon at the CAT office, 1935 W. Broad Street in Bethlehem.  The weather looks promising, so get your costumes in order!  You can even decorate your bicycle.  We’ll ride as flat a route as we can, and will go at an easy pace suitable for kids and inexperienced riders, so feel free to bring the whole fam!  As to costumes, while we always encourage silliness and the outrageous, keep in mind that you will have to be able to pedal and see while you bike, so avoid anything that will hamper your safety.

Sunday is also the Bethlehem Halloween Parade, beginning at 2 p.m..  Our plan is to ride in the neighborhoods, showing off our outfits, and then take up a perch somewhere along West Broad Street to watch some of the parade.  This is a great opportunity for you to get rid of any leftover Halloween candy, or to pick up some extra if you didn’t get enough.  And, if I know our group, I suspect at least some of us will end our day at one neighborhood watering hole or another.

If you’re driving to the CAT office, remember that parking may be impacted by the parade, which gets organized and takes over many areas of West Bethlehem well before the 2 p.m. start time.  Please remember to bring your helmet for the ride.  We’ll be at the CAT office by 11:30 a.m., so come early if you need air in your tires or any other minor mechanical adjustments or maintenance.  See you Sunday!

Questions, contact annef@lvcat.org.  This ride is supported in part by a grant from LV Greenways.
